Play Offs Begin In Digicel Caribbean Cup New York

CaribPR Wire, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. Aug. 14, 2009: WHAT: Digicel Caribbean Cup New York Play Offs featuring East Zone leaders  Barbados taking on St. Lucia and defending champions, Jamaica  facing-off against Trinidad and Tobago.

WHEN: Sunday, August 16^th. Match times - 4 and 6 p.m. respectively.

Digicel is the largest mobile operator in the Caribbean and recent entrant to Central America, today announced details of its three-year sponsorship of the Digicel Caribbean Cup New York.

The Caribbean Cup New York tournament is in its 17th year and features 12 representative teams from the Caribbean and South America. It is currently entering the playoff stages of the tournament, with Jamaica and St. Vincent leading the build up to the final, which takes place on Sunday, September 6^th in Brooklyn, New York. Digicel will provide much-needed funds to the staging of the weekly rounds of the tournament, as well as marketing support and investment in player development.
